Ella picked my hand-dyed linen thread to bind her book!
A natural light brown which comes from my favourite English Breakfast tea! It matches perfectly with the nice greenish leather spine! :)

Leather Travelog-making workshop for my dear friend!

This is a very special workshop for my dear friend Juliana, who will be

heading to Germany for good next week! So proud of her indeed!!

Ju brings along her beloved leather, fancy paper & tools, and I teach

her some simple binding stitch to create her own travelog,

with inner pocket! It looks AWESOME!

It took us around 4 hours to complete (with lots of laughter & important

decision-makings! haha! :P) It's about A6 size which fits just perfectly

into Ju's personal bag!

ALL THE BEST my dear Ju!!!! will miss you lots!!

Remember to post me weird stuffs from Germany! XD

total trust in me throughout the whole project!!

2 gorgeous Wedding Guest Books in Buttonhole binding style :)
Simple yet stunning with all the golden thread running along the spine!

Size: 34cm (L) x 27cm (H) x 3.6cm (W)

Inner pages of high quality acid free natural cream heavy weight paper.
Each page are decorated with golden corner stickers as framework
to accommodate 4 guests' lovely messages (not just signature).
Each Guest Book can accommodate 256 messages,
so 2 of them can hold 512 messages in total.

Wrong signing pens can easily RUIN the whole Guest Book in just a second!

Thus, I carefully chose the signing pens for the couples. They don't like those
metallic paint pen (so do I! never use those!), so I got them some
black and brown waterproof & dry safe Steadtler pens.

I decorated the signing pens in a style that matched with the
Guest Books, simple yet decent and they like them lots :)

I got a huge, glittering gift box to house the 2 heavy gorgeous Wedding
Guest Books :) It's also protective & makes it easier for the couples to
take them to the wedding banquet venue. (Always think in their shoes! :P)

The double-happiness deco looks like a letter seal which matches with the metallic gift box & ribbon perfectly

My beloved old old old friend ordered this gorgeous custom-made Wedding Album for his friends Fola & Tom. This is an very urgent task as the whole production was just a month's time...... so glad I made it and they all LOVE it!! :)

- Size: approx. 11.5" (H) x 14.5" (L) x 2" (W)
- 100% silk weaved fabric (龍鳳真絲織錦) as covers.

- Names of the couple sewed along the spine. It seems to me their names are linked together, sounds good and can actually form a new word, their own word. Thus no "AND" in between. (相連的名字, 是幸福的定義吧!!)

- They are a very pretty, cheerful & energetic couple, so I decided to "write" italic words which look more vivid, chic & fun.

- Names were sewed with Coptic stitch, a simple interlocking one with every stitch literally links together ever after (一輩子緊扣在一起!!)

在喜愛的厚postcard上cut了兩行90度摺線，然後再開洞穿上紙和線，便是最簡單的buttonhole binding。曾學習此裝訂方法的同學也體驗過，穿線時必需用力將線拉緊。因此，在一張有兩行稍為暴力一點便斷裂的postcard上實行buttonhole binding，是技巧的磨練，也是心性修行 : 在強弱兩極找到平衡; 忘卻咭板的脆弱，相信力度的溫柔。

Sew the blank sections with 6 cords, and then make the warp yarns (for weaving) within the cord structure.

push the wefts with bone folder to ensure they are neatly packed

儘然這並不是最搭調的顏色, 我刻意選用了非常黑的黑色binding thread, 幾乎是墨水般濃濃的深黑色。以很用力很確切地表達, 如用墨水筆用力書寫一樣, 好讓心愛的人從老遠的地方 --- 甚至從過去的遠處也能看得見, 然後馬上跑過來, 抱 -- 緊 -- 我。

Preparation #1:

writing the letters along the spine, it's one of the most critical process and I wrote the double "S" without any stencils, COOL~ :)

Preparation #2:

piercing ALL stations accurately!! and it's ready to say it out loud: I MISS YOU!

I sat at the desk for almost 5 hours to sew and complete it,

without getting up for even a minute! such an indulgence!

(I won't tell whom was intensely on my mind when interlocking the I MISS YOU stitches :P)
